Do I need Cloud to use PasteNotch?
No. The Mac app’s 200 local clips, search, filters, pins, and Pages are free. For new customers, the optional $2.99/month Cloud plan adds screenshots, area OCR, screen recording, bookmarks, uploads, sharing, and the web library. Existing lifetime owners retain their purchased capture tools.
Does signing in upload my clipboard?
No. You choose separately whether to sync eligible clips and Pages. Sensitive clips, locked Pages, temporary clips, and local file references are excluded from Cloud clip sync.
Are my uploads public?
Your uploads stay private until you create a public share link. Anyone with that link can open the shared item. Revoke the link to stop it resolving.
Can I take a share link back?
Yes. Revoke it in Cloud to stop the link opening. This cannot recall files someone has already downloaded. A Page exported as a .clipstorypage file is a separate handover; an exported copy cannot be recalled.
What happens if I cancel Cloud?
Your local clips and Pages remain yours. Paid tools and new uploads stop when access ends. Retrieve your Cloud content, then choose Keep Library Local in Settings and restart to continue with Free. Manage your subscription separately through Polar.
Can I use it on my iPhone?
The iPhone companion requires iOS 17 or later and is currently in internal TestFlight testing. It is not yet a public App Store release. Local clips stay on your iPhone; sign in to browse Cloud, and choose separately whether to sync saved clips.
